Turkey Burgers with Brie and Apples

In an attempt to eat a little healthier, I've been looking for recipes that use turkey instead of beef. I had a great sandwich in Savannah that had turkey, brie, and apples, and when I found this Bobby Flay recipe, I had to try it. Justin and I both really liked it. Do make sure to season the turkey really well (it doesn't have as much flavor (aka fat) as beef does). We served it with fries and it made for a great meal. I found that if you're a condiment lover like I am, a little honey mustard on top was the perfect finishing touch. If you don't like ground turkey, this combo is so good it may make you change your mind!

SERVINGS: 4

CATEGORY: Sandwiches/Burgers

METHOD: Stovetop

TIME: 25-30 min.

INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds ground turkey
4 slices of brie (1/2" thick)
salt and fresh ground pepper
1 large granny smith apple, cored and sliced 1/2-inch thick crosswise
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Four rolls

DIRECTIONS:
Shape the meat firmly into four round uniform patties about 1 1/2" thick. Season both sides of the patties with liberally with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to medium-high heat. Brown the burgers on each side. Turn heat down slightly and cook until desired temp. Add brie on top of the burgers and put a lid on the pan. Cook until cheese melts. Remove burgers from pan. Add apples and cook until golden on each side. Place apple slices on burgers and then burgers on the buns.
